Handy Concepts Radio (HCR) is a streaming internet radio station that provides information on the arts: dance, music, literature, painting, sculpture, and more. We explore art from different cultures. We talk to various artists regarding their particular genre. We strive to understand the different art forms from the viewpoints of both the creator and the consumer and then we pass that knowledge on to our listeners. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cheryl Handy is primarily a self-taught artist and has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She attributes her success to her family for their nurturing support and "for whatever came from the gene pool" to contribute to her natural talents. Her husband serves as her biggest promoter and marketing manager. He is also her constant inspiration.Cheryl is retired from the United States Army and holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park. She describes her work as a collection of feelings, memories, musings and everyday life colored by a career in the military, worldwide travel, marriage, children, and family and friends.
Ms. Handy relocated from Baltimore County in 2007 and now resides in Red Lion, PA with husband Michael Anthony, and their two dogs, Smokey and Bandit.
Cheryl has exhibited her work at the University Town Center corporate buildings in Hyattsville, Maryland; the Sports and Learning Center in Landover, Maryland; Univeristy of Maryland's Senior University in College Park, Maryland; Border's Bookstore in Bowie Maryland; Tevis Community Gallery, Carroll county Arts Council; CK's Restaurant, Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport; and the US District Courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland to name a few.
Michael Anthony, founder of "M.A.D. Voice Productions" is the marketing director and the voice of Handy Concepts. Aside from actively marketing the artwork of Handy Concepts Art Gallery, Mike is also available to MC events, do promotions, create voice-overs, and record radio spots. Hailing from Buffalo, NY where he wrote, produced, recorded, and hosted his own radio shows on stations WUFO, WHTT, AND WHLD, Mike began his radio career in the US Army recording for AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio & Television Station).
